FINDING YOUR FEET
Finding Your Feet are a charity very close to our hearts.
Our team are strong supporters of local charities and we are delighted to have supported Finding Your Feet, since the launch of our business. Our founder and director, Jordan Maguire, even went as far as climbing Kilimanjaro for the charity, in 2019!
During our first project with the charity, we held a focus group with some of the fantastic people who devote their time to making Finding Your Feet the amazing organisation it is. Throughout that meeting, we discovered many of the amputees associated with the charity would not frequently display their prosthetic and would more likely disguise it, so not to look different from others. However, we wanted to change that mentality by creating an attachment which could be easily fitted to a prosthetic to encourage users to show off their awesomeness.
We started off by creating some conceptual designs with rendered images and consulting with the end user, to find out what they really wanted.
Once a design was agreed, we finalised the CAD and entered the prototyping phase, of which only one version was required before creating the final product.
The design was created to help increase the confidence of the user, encouraging them to show off the bespoke prosthetic when wearing shorts or a dress. The design was shaped to the contours of her leg, so it also offered a more discreet option, should the user wish not to have the prosthetic on display.
Efficient digital design allowed us to keep the development of this bespoke product lean and timeous.
This meant our client was able to take advantage of the product within a matter of weeks, rather than months.
